Keoladeo Ghana Sanctuary : Bharatpur

If ever you want to spend time with birds and reptiles, especially between October and March, then this is the place you really want to visit with your camera and family… Not far from Delhi and right next to Agra, a visit to Bharatpur also affords a trip to Lord Krishna’s Govardhan Parvat, which is nearby…

Madagascar Pochard : known to be the rarest ducks, I somehow spotted two of these highly endangered species (or an absolute look alike, I don’t really know) in Keoladeo Ghana, India on 04 Jan 2019. Only 90 of these were known to have existed in autumn 2017 at Lake Matsaborimena in Madagascar (thousands of miles away). Maybe, these birds landed here as part of the migratory flock that makes it’s annual trans-Himalayan flight…
I realised this only today (02 Apr 2020), as I was Googling bird species prior to uploading this pic. If anybody knows how to report a rare bird sighting, so as to help in research, then please let me know.
